KUALA LUMPUR: Rising Malaysian singer Nadeera Zaini continues to make waves in the local music industry as she has been selected by Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) to represent the nation at the prestigious Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) Song Festival 2025, which will take place on Sept 13 in Tsonjin Boldog, Mongolia.
This recognition marks another major milestone in the 31-year-old artiste's flourishing career and underscores RTM's confidence in her talent, artistry, and star quality, according to a statement released recently.
Nadeera, who is signed under Rocketfuel Entertainment, has been steadily cementing her status as one of Malaysia's most powerful voices.
At the festival, she will perform her hit single 'Bukan Lagi Kita', a song that has earned her widespread acclaim and established her reputation as one of the strongest vocalists of her generation.
Her performance will also serve as a showcase of Malaysian creativity to an international audience.
Speaking about the honour, Nadeera said she was deeply moved by the opportunity to carry the Malaysian flag onto such a prominent stage.
"This selection by RTM is a huge honour for me. I was truly touched when I found out I would be representing Malaysia at ABU Song Festival 2025.
'Bukan Lagi Kita' is very close to my heart and to my listeners, so I want to sing it with all my soul as a gift for everyone," she said in the statement.
Nadeera added that she views the performance as more than just a personal achievement.
"I realise that on this stage, I'm not just Nadeera.
I am a daughter of Malaysia. Every note I sing will carry our hopes, prayers, and pride.
God willing, I will give my very best performance," she continued.
While this is not her first time performing abroad — having previously graced stages in Vietnam and Indonesia — Nadeera stressed that this opportunity holds far greater significance.
"I'm so proud to represent Malaysia on the world stage. Every time I perform overseas, I carry the spirit and hopes of fans back home.
"This time feels even more special because I will stand alongside some of the region's finest artistes at an international festival.
I hope to make Malaysia proud in my own way," she said.
Nadeera also expressed her gratitude to everyone who has supported her journey.
"Thank you to RTM for this trust, to Rocketfuel for their constant support, to my production team, musicians, and to all my fans who are my backbone.
Please pray that my trip to Mongolia goes smoothly and that my performance will touch the hearts of everyone watching," she shared.
Her label, Rocketfuel Entertainment, also praised her achievement.
"We are incredibly proud of Nadeera. This selection proves her outstanding vocal talent and professional discipline.
We are confident she will bring honour to Malaysia in Mongolia and open doors for more international collaborations," the company said in the statement.
The ABU Song Festival is a non-competitive annual gala organised by the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union.
It features musical or instrumental performances by artists from across the region, with participating countries invited to showcase their representatives live on stage.
The event is also broadcast with subtitles added by national broadcasters, allowing audiences worldwide to enjoy the performances in their own languages.
